The night unravelled to display a veritable smörgåsbord of comedy talent. Which is fortunate, considering it was a comedy night. The performances, by comedians of all levels of experience, had the audience in fits of giggles with their exploitations of subjects such as stereotyping; chavs; and horses that commit auto-theft. The lesser-experienced comedians possessed a bubbling enthusiasm , making their performances a joy to watch. The presenter, Gareth Urwin, is perfect for setting the light-hearted nature of the event; it was outstanding how he made the stage his own with his presence and personality. Carl Hutchinson polished off the night by justifying his award-winning talent.
The open layout of the venue, the hearty population and creative audience
interactivity conflated to create a beautifully warm and welcoming community that you couldn’t find anywhere else for just three nicker. Overall, it was an incredibly funny night and I left with more than my fill of laughs.
